Data were presented at the annual meeting of the American Heart Association, in Orlando, Florida, showing that Novartis’ Diovan (valsartan) is as effective as the angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor captopril in patients who are at high risk for cardiovascular events after myocardial infarction.
